Hey guys. All right. I've been getting into this juicing thing a little bit. Got some celery here. Heard a lot of good things about celery and wanna find out some of the nutritional benefits and why it's healthy. I'm on a bit of a juicing kick at the moment, so today we're gonna do some celery.

Health Benefits Of Celery Juice

So, we'll just go over and have a look. Just found this blog here, foodmatters.com. Just talks a little bit about the benefits of celery juice. So, what have we got here? Heals the gut. Special nutrients in the fibers which are released, or realized, when the vegetable is juiced.

The nutrients promote optimal functioning of the digestive tract, by acting as a natural laxative and relaxing the nerves that have been damaged by unhealthy lifestyle and food choices. So far, so good. Strengthens the bones. Have you ever noticed that celery actually looks like bones? Blah, blah, blah. Celery is very high in calcium, and silicon, which help to regenerate and strengthen damaged bones. Purifies the bloodstream.

Celery contains a particular compound called coumarins, which promotes the activity of white blood cells, and assists the vascular system. This helps the blood flow, reduces blood pressure, and purifies the blood stream. Right.

Celery As Detox

Highly detoxifying. That's pretty standard for most of the green juices. Magical juice. This magical juice is extremely hydrating and alkaline, making it effective for balancing the body's pH level and neutralizing any acidity in the body. This in turn, helps protect healthy cells and balance essential mineral levels, lowering the risk of heart disease.

Celery Juice As An Anti-Inflammatory

Protecting bone density, reducing inflammation, boosting the immune system, and helping to maintain a healthy weight. So there's some weight loss effects, so to speak. Pretty standard anti-inflammatory. Two standard compounds in celery, polyacetylene and luteolin? I think that's how you say it. Makes celery an anti-inflammatory powerhouse.

Okay, that's it. All right. So what I think we'll do, we'll get the juicer going, make some juice, and see what it tastes like. Just got, simply a celery bunch from the supermarket. Apart from what I've just read, I don't know much about it, and eating it as a kid. So, we're just gonna bring the juicer over and give it a go. I'm no expert in juicing, so ... I'm not sure if I'm doing it right or wrong. Actually, I just gotta go get the plunger.

All righty, we'll just cut up the celery bunch. Real simple. And I know some people were ... Don't use all the leaf area, but I'm gonna throw it all in and see what it tastes like. I'm sure it's gonna be more bitter with all the leaf, but we'll put it in anyway. And also, the stump as well. I suppose that's what you call it. We'll throw that in.

Juicing Celery

All right, juicer on. How easy is that? I love that juicer. Pretty cheap actually, just from the supermarket ... from the appliance store. But really simple, does a good job. All right, so there's our celery juice.

Just give it a bit of a stir-up. Obviously these juices, they settle really quickly once you juice them like this. It's about room temperature, so it hasn't been in the fridge or anything, but probably would be nice thing to be cooler. Love that color.

Celery Juice Taste

Compared to some of the other vegetable juices I've had, it's actually quite appealing. It's not offensive at all. It's not as bitter as I thought it would be, with adding all the leaf area in as well. With all those health benefits, and something that's appealing as that, I mean, we can put that in the fridge, probably last about a day I suppose, in a sealed container.

Really refreshing I think, when it's a little bit cooler, as your morning breakfast drink, or any time of the day. All right, so I'm new to this juicing thing. So, yeah.

That was really interesting, and I'm gonna be doing more vegetables as we move on. Thanks. Hope you enjoyed the video.
